As an active member of Toastmasters International, I continue to refine my speaking ability while also helping others learn speaking and leadership skills. In 2013, I became a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), the highest award in Toastmasters, a rigorous program of training and practical experience in public speaking and leadership, achieved by only one percent of Toastmasters.

In March 2006, I was the moderator for a panel discussion on household toxics at the Natural Product Expo West, the yearly conference and expo for the natural products industry, sponsored by Natural Foods Merchandiser magazine. I led Debbie Levin, President of the Environmental Media Association, Ed Begley Jr, and Daryl Hannah in a lively discussion.
