Question from nurse52
I am considering buying Xtrema cookware, which you recommend & use. However, I am concerned because their website states that the cookware can not be nested, but each piece stored separately. I do not have room for this. What has your experience been? Would the cookware be harmed by stacking or nesting? Also, one is not to use any metal utensils on the cookware–this concerns me. I would appreciate your comments.
Thank you

I don’t know about not nesting. I have a set of three pots that were originally sold as a set and one of the features was that you could nest them for storage and that’s what I do.
What is your concern about not using metal utensils? I don’t ever use metal utensils in pots and pans, only wooden. I don’t want to scratch the surface with the metal.
I realize I’m about a year after commenting on your post. But I did want to say what I have found out about Xtrema cookware. I love it. You do have to be careful about nesting. I had to stumble onto the fact that that was not good….I think they need to make that point more obvious. I have quite a few pieces and had to nest some of them. I was real careful nesting them, so I know that I didn’t nest them sharply together. Several weeks to a month or so later, I went to take one of the pots out where it had been nested (at an angle I might add) and it was cracked. I don’t know why that happens, but it did with me. The point about metal utensils. From what I have found you can use metal utensils—it does not “scratch” the cookware, but the cookware is harder than the metal utensils and the metal will wear off on the cookware–and may look like scratches to some. They will come off with a little Ceramabrite that you use to clean cooktops with. And I do use that to brighten up the cookware when I have burnt something to get it shining like new again.
