Question from morgan
We recently moved into a new house and my 2 month old and 2 year old both have had blood in their noses since we moved in and I was wondering what could possibly be causing that? It has been fixed up recently but also has an old basement in an area with high radon.
Debra’s Answer
It sounds like there are many materials in your home that could be releasing various chemicals that would irritate your children’s respiratory track to the point of causing bloody noses.
“It has been fixed up recently…” with what? New paint, new carpets, new cabinets? Any one of those has chemicals that can cause irritation and more.
Radon could be doing it too.
This is the kind of thing we could discuss in more detail in a paid telephone consultation. I can help you identify exact source points of chemicals and how to remedy them.
Please check the house carefully for mold…I have read of children having nosebleeding due to moldy homes…best to you in finding the sources you need.

Has your kids recenty since that happened had any cavities
IF so how many? How many bloody noses?
My son started having bloody noses after we moved into a house that we later discovered had a big mold problem. Look in the basement. Since the house is “fixed up”, that probably means it’s old. Old houses and basements almost always = mold!
I’ll resist a rant, but each person in our family of 7 had very serious health problems that resulted mainly from living in mold for 8 years. My wife nearly died and it has led to complete upheaval for us, resulting severe MCS, and we’re still not out of the woods yet. Please take my advice and have a truly qualified person check for mold. Better yet, get a couple of opinions. Some of the “experts” really aren’t. I’ve become an expert in it purely out of survival, and have looked at countless houses of all sorts, trying to find one w/o a moisture and mold problem. I can almost guarantee there’s mold in the basement. Take it seriously while you still can.
I recently read in the news about a family that had a young child who moved into a house that used to be a meth lab. It caused health problems including nose bleeds.
I got bloody noses for a week just from the new plastic in a brand new washing machine. I agree with Debra’s answer…many things in your new home could cause it.

Chinese Drywall can cause bloody noses. When was your home built? What kind of insulation do you have?
Among many other symptoms, EMF can cause bloody nose in some persons, particularly from Smart Meters and DECT cordless phones.
