It’s hard to find safe, non-toxic kitchen appliances because manufacturers don’t always list the materials they use. Here’s a guide to help you find a toaster or toaster oven that uses safer materials.

Hi Lisa,
I emailed about this toaster: TO3265XSSD
and here is the response I got. I’m assuming it’s similar to the others you recommended but want to confirm there’s nothing you find concerning:
Thank you for your interest in this Black+Decker toaster oven. The exterior of this toaster oven is stainless steel. The interior is zinc-coated stainless steel. The wire slide rack is a chrome-plated stainless steel. The baking and crumb trays are both aluminum. If you need further assistance, I’d be happy to help! Please contact us at youropinionmatters@spectrumbrands.com and reference the screen name used in your question so that we may better assist you.”
Yes, this is fine and consistent with the models I identified. I wasn’t able to capture all models because they offer different models in different places.
I can only find the black + decker TO3280SSD (you recommend the SS). I’m assuming the only difference is that the D is digital but want to be sure before ordering another toxic toaster oven. I have been using a Breville for years 🙁
Yes, that it is the same toaster. I’ve added some additional models as well.
