Question from Just Wondering
I was wondering if anyone had any comments or experience with using the Surround Ewe wool sleep system. It is owned and operated by a woman who has Kerry Hills Farm and she sells wool pillows, mattresses, mattress toppers, etc. They are organic wool products and organic cotton coverings. I wondered if anyone had bought any items and if they were happy with the products. Any comments appreciated. Thank you.

I’m not familiar with this one. Readers?
I had the exact opposite experience. I HATE the mattress. It’s way too hard, the topper compressed into a lumpy mess, I wake up constantly with numb limbs. Wool compresses people, so if you use this bed for more than a few months, it will not be pleasant.
I haven’t used this brand of mattress, but I’ve been sleeping on my Shepherd’s Dream wool mattress for years with no compression, so this is not true of all wool mattresses.
I’ve had the Surround Ewe king-size mattress/topper/comforters/sheets/pillows now for 3-1/2 years. I had a latex mattress before but became allergic to it and it became uncomfortable and hurt my back and shoulders. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Surround Ewe system. I feel 10 years younger and wake up without any aches or pains or stiffness. The other mattress caused me great pain and numbness in my hands/arms. I like that Surround Ewe is made in the USA and non-toxic from a renewable source. You must, however, have a good solid base to put it on to get the full benefit. A platform bed is ideal. Ifyou buy the bed from the company, and you are sensitive to chemicals get the unpainted version. The linseed oil finish I got on mine was too toxic for me, but a friend thought it was a great smell so I gave it to her. It is a bit inconvenient trying to get in touch while waiting for your bed to arrive and waiting for weeks takes patience, but you will not be disappointed. It does smell like clean wool and that’s different in the beginning. Not smelly, just different. My bed beckons to me now and I snuggle into it every night thankful that I found this product and took a leap of faith to buy it. My dogs (shih tzus) adore it and often go to bed before I do. They are reluctant to get up in the morning. I would recommend thin wool pillows. You sink/snuggle in so nicely that a thick fluffy pillow is not necessary. If you are a back sleeper, you may not need a pillow at all. The support is phenomenal. No pressure points. I’m sixty years old and I bounce out of bed refreshed and ready to great the day. My other mattress made me feel old and achy. Your body will thank you. But beware that the pallets are heavy in the king size. One person can move them around, but two is easier.
