Orgreenic nonstick pan

Hi Debra, I am shopping for new safe, eco-friendly, long lasting, easy to use cookware and am wondering if you have any opinion on or experience with “The Original Green Pan” cookware. Thanks!

I’m assuming you are referring to the Orgreenic nonstick pan, which is what I found when I searched on “the original green pan.”

It LOOKS fine and I say LOOKS in a capital letters because I have no personal experience with it. It says it has a ceramic finish, looks very similar online to my Cuisinart Green Gourmet pans that I like.

But I am always skeptical of the quality of merchandise sold by infomercials. That doesn’t mean ALL informercial products are bad, I just think twice before buying them.

Anyone have experience with this pan?

The pan does an exceptional job when compared to more prolific Teflon coated pans. I have not tried the ” blowing of the egg” trick shown in the commercial but I can say these things that about it:

The surface is more durable than a Teflon pan. Although I tell my children (who all cook) not to use metal utensils on non-stick pans, they continue to do so. This reeks havoc on Teflon pans but after months of use (abuse?), my Orgreenic pan has only developed one small scratch.
Untold in the commercial, the pan needs conditioning. This takes about an hour and is to be repeated about twice a year.
The surface of the pan is better at non-sticking than Teflon pans. I have never had an issue cleaning this pans, something I cannot say for other non-stick pans.

Overall, I would say that it is a good value. It does not leave an after taste and allows less fat to be used to keep the food from sticking
