Question from Audrey
Hi Debra,
Please post this where appropriate. I am looking for a small portable air conditioner on wheels to put on my enclosed balcony. My washer and dryer are in a closet out there and it is intolerable during the summer months, which is very long here in South Florida. I thought I found a Delonghi on HSN, but when I looked it up on their site, it said the filter was antibacterial. I don’t think that is good with allergies and mcs. I am stumped. Anyone out there have any suggestions? Thank you.

Readers, and ideas for this?
I would like to know if anyone who has a portable air conditioner and it smelled very strongly from the motor – did it eventually go away after running it a lot? Very anxious to hear responses (especially from people who are very sensitive mcsers). Thank you.
I asked the question. I did order it and it came yesterday. I am waiting for a handyman to come and assemble it (I am not good at that). It does smell and I thought it was the filter, but I took out the filter and it is fine. The smell is coming from inside the unit (the motor?). It smells rubbery and chemical – very strong. I am just praying that once it is running for a while that the smell will go away. I called the company and they were very nice but they said no one has ever complained about a smell. I will keep you informed about this after I run it for a while.
