Question from Mary Ann
I have a big problem with lint on my clothes after washing them. I have been line drying my clothes and have tried several things I have read on the internet to solve the problem including vinegar in the wash cycle, putting the clothes in the dryer 15 min before hanging (this gets some lint off), 15 min in the dryer when the clothes are almost dry, and baking soda in the wash cycle. I don’t want to use the dryer for full drying, I am desperate, HELP!!!!

all of my life I have been using whirlpool (old school) washer and dryer. Putting towels and clothes together. NO LINT. Recently my room mate bought a new HE front loader and all that jazz. Lint on all of my clothes and the shortest cycle takes more than an hour to wash. Then there is lint on everything. SOmeone advises to do smaller loads… OMG so that means spend 4 or 5 hours to split what an older machine could do in an hour and a half??? My clothes always looked good and last a long time before the “new and improved JUNK”.
I can’t wait to move out on my own and I am so glad I put my old washer in storage. Also I noticed the new HE models don’t use hardly any water. Why would anybody want to take an hour to wash and an hour to remove lint. I earn enough per hour to buy a new pair of pants. My advice is just keep your old washer and dryer. So it uses more water.. compared to taking an hour to wash and an hour pick off the lint and SPEND MORE on HE laundry soap… Pshh,
