Question from Stjarn
To no avail, I’ve been searching for days on end for some place in the Houston, TX area that is safe to stay for someone with MCS. Staying in conventional hotels has been an absolute nightmare. I’m aware of two large chains’ allergy rooms and they are indeed good for people with traditional allergies, but they seem to use MORE chemicals for killing conventional allergens. Not a help here. Houston is seeming more and more like a place where people/businesses just don’t have an awareness of chemical issues. Even small B and B’s have not responded favorably. If anyone has particular information, it would be great to hear it before we go to Houston next weekend. Thank you very much.

I most frequently stay in Air BnBs. It takes time but I search the listings for the words Eco, Organic, and Green. I then contact the hosts directly telling them of my specific needs.
One reason Houston is so problematic is the buildings there are filled with mold. Between hurricanes and hot humidity, mold is rampant. Mold exposure always makes my MCS worse.
It’s now 2018 and another person with MCS is trying hard to find somewhere to stay in or around the greater Houston area.
I have had no success yet. I have only been working on this for a couple of weeks so far. I did have an idea to try listings on AirBNB. I have had little success so far but I am not giving up yet.
If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or better yet, knows of a place please let us know. I have a very ill family member and we would like to see each other before it is too late. Thank you
