Question from Louise
Hello Debra.
My husband & I love your web site, thank you for all the info and “words of wisdom”.
I have two questions.
1. Do you know of a permanent hair dye that is free of perfumes and harsh chemicals, safe for MCS people ?
2. Do you have any information in reguards to the safety of tattoo dyes on people with MCS ?
Many thanks Debra!!!!
Debra’s Answer
Readers, what are your recommendations?
I have MCS and I use Hairprint ( http://www.myhairprint.com/ ). It doesn’t have an odor and it doesn’t have any toxic ingredients. It isn’t really a dye but it takes your hair back to it’s natural color . It is made by a green chemist. It is only available for brown or black hair .
As far as tattoos are concerned ,why chance it ? Once those chemicals are embedded in your skin they are there for life . There hasn’t been very many studies on the toxic effects of tattoos . There are phthalates in at least the black ink . No one has studied how long it takes to clear those phthalates .It is doubtful that phthalates that are embedded into the skin are going to be cleared quickly. Temporary henna skin staining would probably be a safer and creative way to get a tattoo.
