Question from janice
Hi……thanks so much for all the work you do in posting all this great information and resources for those of us with sensitivities to toxic products and vocs. Clicking on the link for adhesives and chaulk – it appears that Greenlink is no longer available? Any other suggestions???
Thanks
Debra’s Answer
Yes, they are gone. Thanks for asking so I can remove them from Debra’s List. Their website is still up, which is why they didn’t appear as a broken link.
The site goes to Chem-Link, the manufacturer of GreenLink. These products, though similarly less toxic, are not being sold to the consumer market, only commercial.
Readers, any suggestions for replacements?
I am chemically senstive and caulking REALLY bothers me, and since my husband has been remodeling our house for a long time, I’ve had experience with various kinds of caulking. Thankfully he found a good one that does not bother me from Home Depot. I don’t know the exact name of it but it is their “eco” type brand. He says it works just about as well as regularly caulking, and comes in different types for bathroom/kitchen and other uses.
Please go look on the package and post the name.
Is it Eco-Bond Multipurpose Adhesive?
This actually looks very good. Ecobond website and MSDS.
I checked and it is Eco Bond. I have no problem with this kind, and regularly caulking is too bad for my hub to use in the house.
I am hoping the name will come up too. I have extreme sensitivity to caulk and sealents. I saw the Echobond but was afraid to purchase. Last year my handyman caulked my outside door in the closet to keep out ants and I still can not sleep in that room…even with the door closed. I have several projects coming up and could order aheard of time.
As of 2013, I have purchased ChemLink products as a consumer.
http://www.bigrocksupply.com and http://www.greenbuildingsupply.com are two that come to mind.
I would also recommend that you contact ChemLink at 800-826-1681 to get a list of additional resellers.
Good luck!
Thanks. They told me Chemlink products were not available to consumers.
