Question from JC
I made the mistake of thinking there would be a safe sealer for granite countertops and now I have to find one! Do you know what I can use because my understanding (now, after it’s too late) is that granite has to be sealed yearly and I cannot find a safe sealer.
Please help!

My granite counter tops are 7+ years old and I have not resealed them. They still look new. What makes you think you need to do this yearly?
When my granite counters were installed there was no smell and no problem. I’m assuming that when I need to reseal them I will use the same sealer that the company originally used.
That said, none of my friends have had to reseal their counters even after years of use.
I had the same concern about sealing quartzite (natural stone) countertops. My dealer told me that Miracle Sealer H2O is water-based and should not have VOCs. We need to check the ingredients in Miracle Sealer H2O to see which chemicals are or are not used.
