Question from Mira
Does anyone know of a chemically safe electric tea kettle? I drink tea all day long and would like something that heats up quickly and turns off automatically. Thanks.

I tried to find an all-glass electric kettle a few years ago, but I couldn’t find any that didn’t have a bit of plastic or other unknown material in direct contact with the water. I ended up getting a simple glass kettle for the stove top (like this one on Amazon: Medelco 12-Cup Glass Stovetop Whistling Kettle).
If you can’t find a suitable electric kettle, my suggestion would be to boil a full kettle of water on the stove and then pour it into a glass insulated carafe/thermos to use throughout the day. This option would probably be more time and energy efficient, as well.
