I am looking for safe dinnerware sets that would be heavy metal free as possible that is affordable? Is there any brands I could check into that you would know of? I did check with corelle and they said it meets prop. 65 but I know no amount of heavy metals are safe. So just want to see what else may be out there that I dont know about.
I thought certain colors of Fiesta Ware shouldn’t be used.
Some vintage items can be high in lead, cadmium and even uranium. All of the new Fiesta Ware products are lead-free but some colors (reds, yellows, oranges) may contain cadmium. Even those colors pass the California Proposition 65 standard for cadmium which means that is does not leach into food at levels above the safety limits. All of the other colors may contain trace levels of lead and cadmium because they are inherent in the natural materials in the dishes, but they do not leach out into food.
