Lisa’s Answer
I use Xtrema cookware and also use a stainless steel pan to make eggs. Cast iron is also a good choice. You can look for safe options from Debra’s List.
I’ve learned that Xtrema actually contains a lot of metals. Tamara Rubin has done extensive testing.
Xtrema has extensive third-party testing available to consumers that shows they pass the stringent California Proposition 65 guidelines. The website you reference looks at lead content. Xtrema’s testing shows that there is no lead migrating, or leaching, from the product.
Unfortunately, there is no perfect cookware. I believe Xtrema is one of the safest options and I use it regularly.
Tamara Rubin from Lead Safe Mama tests things for lead and has recommendations.
