Question from Bonnie Johnson
I am about to start radiation for breast cancer after a lumpectomy. The surgery will be tuff enough but have had others so I know how to handle things. I was wondering if anyone out there has dealt with the radiation issues with MCS.

I have reasonably severe mcs. Following a sinus ct scan, i developed difficulty focusing, pains in my eyes, blepharitis, and later cognitive decline and now can’t walk more than 100m without a rest. I’m looking at giving up a career and a job. Radiographers said that the ct scan wouldn’t affect me, but the research is there.
Lemonade, are you open to “alternative” healing options for your health situation? I would recommend checking out Quantum Techniques, a comprehensive system of energy healing, done over the telephone. They are especially experienced with chronic, non-healing conditions, including MCS and the fatigue, etc, you described.
Thanks for the comments. I have been researching so many natural treatments but am allergic to most herbs used and will continue to search. I face the second surgery next week because the margins were not clear around the tumor. If not clear this time I will have to have a mastsectomy. The hospital stay overnight was not too bad as I brought my own soap etc but the prep they used in surgery gave me a terrible rash I am still fighting. I also had a mild reaction to the Cipro used for 3 days as an antibiotic. I am allergic to penicillians and sulfer drugs. Good grief what is left. Had it not been for the steroids I am currently on I may have just exploded with rashes.
I have been doing some research in the area of juicing and hope to start doing that once a day when I am recovering. Because of possible wheat/gluten sensitivity they can not find I may not be getting all my vitamins from my foods. Not good. Will keep you all posted and welcome any more comments.
Six years ago I was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Radiation was never mentioned, but the doctor who first treated me did push for chemotherapy. I’d already been dealing with MCS for several years by then and was very wary of adding more chemicals to my load. I did a little research and declined the chemo. The doctor made dire predictions about my prognosis. I found someone else who was more upbeat, a doctor who was willing to work with me, and I’ve outlived the prognosis by quite a few years. My illness and the recommended treatment are both different than what you’re facing, but I’m wondering if there is some similarity. Have you researched natural treatments? Have you spoken with breast cancer survivors who opted out of radiation treatments? This is what I would suggest. I was able to find a Yahoo group discussing alternative treatments for CLL. There should be something like that for breast cancer too. I strongly urge you to seek out the alternatives before making your final decision.
Please get the book by Ty Bollinger titled, Cancer: Step Outside the Box It is loaded with natural cancer treatments and treatment centers throughout the United States. Awesome information that is valuable for way more than just cancer sufferers. It would behoove any individual to read this book and learn about health in general. Excellent Resource.
I had radiation to the chest 16 years ago and found that it greatly exacerbated my MCS, which I am still trying to find solutions for. In my case, no shielding was possible so my whole heart and about a third of each lung and my bronchial tubes were affected.
Your situation is better because they will do their best to shield as much of the heart and lungs as possible, but ask questions about what part of the lungs will receive radiation and insist that they tell you about dealing with late effects. – Christina Sever
I am dealing with the same thing, and after much research, have decided to not have any radiation…I am using colloidal silver water, and meeker red raspberry cream…mine is against my chest wall in the thickest part of the breast. Too many of my friends have gone the ‘tradtional’ route and are no longer here or have other health issues as a result of the radiation and chemo…My choice is to starve and kill the cancer cells to the point where they die, instead of dividing and replicating. All of my healthy tissue will stay healthy and not get destroyed, along with the cancer cells.
This is purely an individual choice. I wish only the best for you. It is indeed scary, but I am without insurance (due to job loss). I refuse to be one of the freeloaders the politicians scream about on television whom they are saving the country from by forcing upon us this dangerous ObamaCare. I decided against the radiation and will do it through nutrition.
Keep us informed regarding your health. Thanks for all you do.
