Question from Renee
Hi Debra,
I love your website, book, and all of your valuable info!
I was curious to know what you thought of the Cambria line of quartz countertops? www.cambriausa.com
Thanks!
Renee
Debra’s Answer
Totally fine with me. It’s natural stone. Mined in the USA too.
I am going to have to check them out. I need a new countertop and I am still looking at farmhouse sinks. I think I found 1 at IKEA.
Does engeinered stone still have the grren seal? Caesarstone has that on the website. That they are enginered.
Green Seal is given to individual brands, not a type of product. So look for it on each separate brand.
I have been looking for new countertops and discovered that Silestone now adds antimicrobial to all of its solid surface countertops. Hopefully the others won’t follow suit. Buyer beware!
Debra, does that mean you are fine with all the quartz products? I know there are several different manufacturers, Caesarstone being one of them, and they all seem pretty equal to me. All that I have researched are 93% quartz and mixed with a resin, but are Greenguard certified, NSF certified, and can earn LEED points. I will have to replace my kitchen countertops and am considering quartz since it is so durable and seemingly safe. Just want to make sure you think they all are okay as long as they have these certifications, thanks!
I think they are all fine to the best of my knowledge.
