This is what I like. You go to their website and the first thing you see is “Super Soft ORGANIC cotton. No toxic dyes. No toxic pesticides. No sweatshops. No child labor.” That pretty much says it. Casual clothing, underwear, socks and leggings, tank tops, hoodies. Women, men, baby. GOTS certified.

Sorry if I’m repeating myself since I shared my experience on one of your Q&A, but I though it was important to share here where more people are likely to see it that I had a similar experinece to John. Ordered 3 pairs of women’s underwear from PACT last year (2018) and they smelled of chemicals like a lot of ‘drop ship’ items from Amazon. Replacements had the same sick sweet odor. Got a bit of a rundaround when discussing the issue with customer service, though they did refund me no issue even after sending the replacements.
From Eve’s review it sounds like this is one of many companies that started out good but couldn’t keep up with demand and/or wanted to cut costs so switched to cheaper production methods (I was finally told it was the dye ‘wash’ and would wash out). They claim GOTS but I am not so sure and will be reporting my issue to GOTS per Debra’s suggestion.
Thanks Erin. Please keep looking into this and reporting back.
All I and any of us can do individually is read the information provided by the companies. It takes a collective effort to determine the integrity of a company.
We should all be reporting both good experiences and difficulties with the companies I’m listing, to establish who can be trusted and who can’t.
Thanks Debra, I greatly appreciate the info on this site from you, Lisa, and the rest of the community.
Update: I reported to GOTS but apparently I reported to the wrong person. Life sort of got in the way after that so unfortunately I have nothing new to report as it was some time ago and I have not tried PACT again since then. Hopefully they have improved though and someone will have a positive experience to share soon.
Thanks for the information. Just FYI, Debra has not been involved with the site since June of 2019:)
I have been buying from PACT for several years. My most recent order Dec 2020 was for about a dozen t-shirts. Opened them all and on the last package I noticed a faint “vomit” smell. So my OCD fear of unknown kicked in and I started investigating. I contacted Pact and they said it could be a number of things like from the manufacturing process (specifically the dye if it did not have enough time to air out). They also mentioned that they pre-wash everything and if it was packaged before completely dry it could produce odor. (this is the explanation I am leaning towards, it’s seems reasonable.) Most of my previous orders contained the moisture absorbing packets. These shirts, however did not. I have found some articles about the organic farmers in India who manufacture Pact clothing and the dying process, and how the dye vat for indigo smell of fermented indigo or cow poo. So I imagine that even organic GOTS certified clothing can have odors. My mind starts to wonder if something from shipping could have compromised the “organic” status of the clothing though.
A few years ago, I bought a bunch of women’s panties and socks from PACT, and really loved them. Last month, I bought more of both and was disappointed: the quality of the fabric isn’t on par with my previous purchase (thinner material, not particularly soft, seemingly cheap elastic on the panties, the socks are looser and have less ‘stretch’). The price seems to have come down, but not really in the long run since I don’t see these lasting very long. Bottom line: Yes, it’s organic cotton, but the quality is poor.
Hoping to find a better option on your site, Debra. Thank you for this wonderful resource.
I’ve been ordering from this company for almost a year. I have MCS and I don’t recommend this company at all. The T-shirts always smell like chemicals when you remove from packaging. They take 7, 8, washings before they don’t give off chemical smell. Today, I washed a load of t-shirts from PACT. I smelled a horrible strong chemical smell when I opened washer. I removed a t-shirt from washer, smelled it and had a severe neurological event (severe aggression, anger and became violent). I’m finally recovering after 2 hours. I will never purchase another item from this place ever again. Never!
