“French linen” is also a trademarked term in France dating back generations when they began blending linen with cotton. Buying from France doesn’t guarantee 100% linen. It must be marked as such. Simply being labeled French Linen means it is probably the blend. Even the Chinese are making items out of French Linen as it has a good selling point without the cost of pure linen.
I ordered the organic 100% linen underwear for men, and the 100% organic linen sheets. Both items are greatly helping me with sleeping for the night, where as before, my sleeping gets inconsistent. I used to wear organic cotton underwear, but now after learning about the frequency of linen, it is a game changer. Going with 100% linen, makes a big difference in well being.
Yes, linen is wonderful and far more healthy to wear than synthetics. However, the linen that Melanie uses is of poor quality. I was surprised my sheets started wearing out only a couple of years after ordering them from Life Giving Linen with the bottom sheet totally destroyed despite careful laundering in a cold water gentle cycle and line drying.
Linen is known to be the world’s strongest natural fiber, so perhaps too much hydrogen peroxide (which can be harsher than bleach because one has to use more to whiten the fabric) to bleach the fabric is what has made Melanie’s linens seem thin and fragile.
Despite Melanie’s claims that contradict most experts on linen, good quality linen should last decades, which is why Europeans are willing to pay more money for quality linen sheets because they last, or should last, considerably longer than cotton sheets. No one would ever pay more money for just a couple of years of use.
If you are looking for good quality organic linen sheets be prepared to pay more money for them, but they should last for at least one decade, whereas renewing your sheets with cheaper quality linen every two or three years would definitely cost way more money. In short, buy the French organic linens; they may cost more initially, but you save money in the long term and enjoy them more because linens are supposed to get better with washing and age and not wear out so soon. . Rawganique sells French linen organic sheets.
I have a pillowcase from Life Giving Linen that I have been sleeping on nightly since the interview and it is still in good condition. Did you contact Melanie about this?
